1. What is Mature Age Entry scheme?
Mature Age entry scheme is an undergraduate university entry scheme tailored particularly for prospective candidates who are at least 25 years of age by 1st day of August of the year in which admission is sought. There are no minimum academic requirements to join University through this scheme.
2. Who is eligible for mature age entry scheme?
The minimum qualification for admission is 25 years of age. Students must sit and pass an aptitude test and a programme specific exam with at least 50% in a University accredited by National Coucil for Higher Education to administer mature age scheme. The exception is IUIU where those aged at least 22 are eligible.
3. Which Universities are accredited to examine mature age entry exams?
Makerere University, Gulu University and Islamic University in Uganda. However other universities can admit students with mature age certificates obtained from these universities.
4. For how long is a Mature age certificate valid?
A mature age certificate is valid for not more than 2 years before seeking admission. The documents obtained thereafter are valid for a lifetime.
